Player Placement Function
For the upcoming Saturday Co-ed Softball season, SP Sports is implementing an innovative program to help teams that have difficulty with fielding enough players and to help free agents that want to play softball, but can not commit to a team for a full season.
TEAMS
The "Forfeit Alert System" is a program that gives teams the opportunity to avoid having to forfeit a scheduled game by informing SP Sports in advance of a need for players. To implement the system, the team representative would have to contact SP Sports by 11am on the Friday before the scheduled game.
The representative would let SP Sports know how many players they need, men and/or women, and SP Sports will attempt to fill those roster spots for that game.
If SP Sports can not place a player, the team will not be charged with a forfeit the first time they make a placement request that goes unfilled.
PLAYERS
The SP Sports Free Agent placement process can not always accomodate all that are interested. Sometimes a roster spot is not available, and sometimes a player just can not commit for a full season.
The "Player Placement Registry" is our new program to accomodate players who have been unable to find a team.
During the entire season individuals can join the "Player Placement Registry". A deposit of $20 places a free agent on the list.
HOW THE REGISTRY WORKS
Each week players on the list will update their availability for that Saturday's game by Thursday at 5pm. Teams that need players contact SP Sports by 11am the day before the game. SP Sports will then match players on the list with requests of the teams.
After that, if players from the registry join the team they substituted on for the remainder of the season, they are removed from the list.
Once the Free Agent sign-up period is completed on March 1st, the "Player Placement Registry" will be opened for sign-ups.
